THE SUNRISE SET
The Sunrise Set are an alternative rock band from Surrey with a sound that incorporates blues, folk, and post punk with shades of gospel. The band are currently writing their second album, 'Rule of The Mountain', due to be recorded early summer 2013.
Clinton Elvis, a young British Ugandan Singer and fledging songwriter represents the next generation of Pop R&B. This 17 year-old vocalist first realised his immense talent at the tender age of 6 and had begun to perform at various clubs by the age of 9 - in doing so achieved the great honour of performing in front of the Queen of Uganda. Clinton has been influenced by the greats such as Michael Jackson (both vocally and in performing), James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Boyz 2 Men and ofcourse the likes of Usher, Chris Brown etc. These influences have helped Clinton develop in to the artist he is becoming today; at 17, although still unsigned, the East London born singer has performed on numerous occasions and still recognises his cultural heritage by displaying his talent for events such as the Ugandan Independence.
Stead is a musician of the old traditions. A singer songwriter and crafter of elegant, lo-fi songs that seem to fuse soulful folk, pop, Mediterranean vibes and underground, understated lounge jazz with healthy disregard for convention ... Lilting ballads filled with romanticism, disarming honesty and wistful philosophy born of the experience of life ... More that just a document of the everyman’s, everyday emotional concerns, life, love, loss and longing and all the rest, there is an optimism to the songs, both through the beauty and often upbeat ethos of the music but also lyrically ... the songs are a triumph of arrangement ... a slickly presented, mellow and unobtrusive yet quietly magical album" Green Man Music.
